“I hope to live and create nature-based music in the Front Range for a very long time,” says Kagan. He has planned a unique, ten-venue tour of children’s concerts along the length of the 483 mile Colorado Trail in which he will walk from gig to gig carrying his backpacker’s guitar and props. We are proud to hace Jeff as our artist of the week.

Jeff Kagan has been entertaining and educating children and parents with his mountain-inspired nature music for nearly a decade. Now, at the age of 28, Kagan makes his home and his music in Boulder, CO. “The Rocky Mountains are the source of my music,” says Kagan. Indeed, Kagan writes the majority of his music on solo hiking excursions through the foothills of the Rockies. Kagan’s music has been described as “a cross between: (1) John Denver – Almost Heaven, Rocky Mountain High, nature loving, feel-good, joyful music, (2) Dan Zanes – totally hip, fun, down-home, family music, hangin’ out and singin’ with the peeps, and (3) The Wiggles – silly, creative, super engaging for kids, wildly popular, and, well, wiggly!” – Cate - Boulder, CO Mother of Two. During the school year Kagan teaches environmental education with the Thorne Ecological Institute in Boulder, CO. He also works as a Naturalist for the City of Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks. The common thread through his teaching is the use of music to inspire appreciation for and educate about the natural world.
